In my defense, this picture is in response to the overwhelming barrage of reader requests to see the baby hammies. And by overwhelming, I mean two.
So far it appears that things are going according to instinct. Good instinct. Priscilla sits upon her nest like a queen on her throne, constantly burrowing around to shore up the sides with extra bits of scrap and fluff. Her eyes are often closed and as I stop to consider what it must feel like to give birth to a multitude of youngsters and then proceed to nurse them simultaneously, I practically fall asleep myself.
Speaking of multitude...care to wager a guess as to how many babies are in this litter? Isabella thinks there are ten.
My answer is plenty.
