This brilliant fellow whom I found outside yesterday. He was already dead, so I did not have to wrestle with the ethical issues which have thus far prevented me from capturing a gigantic blue bee.
I brought him inside and added him to my collection.
This is my collection.
I like to stand here and lose myself for a moment from time to time.
I love that others do, too. People of all ages tend to wander in here and spend a little time. Unless they are very young, I'll show them around, then usually excuse myself to go do something else.
This is a good place to be alone with one's imagination.
Also making me happy: Izzy's butterflies.
This warm, needle-toothed mop.
Mango lassis. Why call them smoothies when you can call them lassis?
And finally, the desert!
This morning I went for a trail run, the first since spraining my ankle...it wasn't the most graceful outing, I didn't exactly leap and bound, but I was so happy to be there. I had the whole place to myself and I must say, it seemed as if the trail had gotten a little lonely in my absence.
Oh, wilderness. Oh, you bleak and barren plain! It's a small secret we share, we two, when we are out there together. You with your vast, impassive demeanor and me with my totally readable face.
Thanks for letting me spend time with you.
