Thank you for your comments on the previous post, dear reader. It's good to be reminded attending to the spirit is as vital in its own way as attending to the body. And I love to see a thought filtered through so many different perspectives--each one beautiful and enhancing my own way of seeing the world.
Thank you for that.
I will leave the giveaway open for a few more days, so please feel free to enter if you haven't had a chance to do so.
I guess I would just love to have every talent on the table. I would love to know how to patch a wound, how to fix the economy, how to charm a snake, how to sew a dress, how to fashion a lightbulb using two wires and a gumwrapper, how to mend hurt feelings, how to speak every language, how to change a tire, how to sing like a nightingale.
For starters.
And I would love to have time to say things more meaningfully on this blog. Or more frivolously. So often, especially as of late, life has been so busy it seems the best I can do is dash off a summary of our lives which comes dangerously close to that most suffocating of all practices: forcing someone to sit down and flip through one's vacation photos.
I've never wanted Tollipop to be such a literal place. It pains me when that is all I can muster. I would rather it feel like an escape--not exactly into a world of fantasy, but into a place where good things seem more possible, where beauty is more visible, where silliness has a seat at the table and flaws have two.
Anyway, I'll let my thoughts percolate on the matter and hopefully reveal the balance I'm looking for: how to better attend the body and the soul.
In the meantime, on this grey and rainy morning, I am thinking of Sophie who came home from one adventure, waited long enough for me to wash her kneepads, then went back out the door for another.
I miss her.
But I still have my other girls.
And they are a delight.
And this house is filled with music from cellos, ukeleles, voices, and violins.
And when one needs it, there are still portals to magic places. There are still escapes. With everything else that must be done, there also beckons adventures and very real wanderings to be taken down the corridors and vast wild frontiers of one's own imagination.
