Dear reader, as the year draws to a close, do you find yourself reflective, thoughtful, earnest, grave? Or do you find yourself with a house so full of tiny cousins your only resolution is to succumb to the chaos without completely losing your mind?
I've been meaning to post the recording of Sophie's piano recital. This, my girl who recently became a teenager, grew taller than me, can send the volleyball whistling over the net, makes me laugh, cares deeply about her grades, loves her baby cousins, has enviable penmanship, thinks about the fourth dimension, wears blue eyeshadow, is to be found reading or drawing whenever I fail to perpetually enslave her with housework, and learned to snowboard last week.
In short, she's a pretty cool girl...in a slightly nerdy way. Which is how we roll around here.
At any rate, our house is full of cousins at the moment. And more are on the way. I must add we are missing our Chicago cousins and wishing they could be with us, too. Because at this point there are so many little bodies running around, how could four more possibly make a difference?
Four more times the fun, that's how.
Wishing you a happy, safe, and wonderful New Year, dear reader. Thank you for the time you've spent visiting me in this cozy space these past twelve months. Please feel free to do a little reflection on my behalf and inform me of the results. Perhaps I will find myself waxing more profound when the dust finally settles around here.
