Why say "Stop your insipid quibbling!," when you can opt for (in thunderous, Shakespearean tones): "Cease and desist all pettifoggery this instant!"
Actually, both are pretty good...but from now on I'm going with pettifoggery.
I heard it in church this morning and dear reader, you can bet I sat up to attention after that!
It rather made my entire day.
Splendid language. Immortally grand words. You never know when you are going to hear them. On second thought, however, I suppose church is as good a place as any...
